Emerald Awards to celebrate school staff
The community is invited to a program celebrating the work of the 2014 Emerald Award winners next Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Peerless Theatre, with a reception to follow in the multi-purpose room.
A special section will be inserted in next week’s Enterprise to feature Kristie Pelle, Heart Award recipient; Chandra Parker, Innovator of the Year; and Angie Powell, Leader Among Us.
Easter egg hunt is Saturday
Children age 2 through fourth grade are invited to participate in the annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m. The event is sponsored in three locations by Holyoke Lions Club, VFW Post #6482 and American Legion Post #90.
Kids at the Phillips County Courthouse will be divided into three age groups: 2 and under, 3-4-year-olds and 5-6-year-olds. Each age group will hunt for eggs on one of the three lawns surrounding the courthouse.
First- and second-graders will meet at Holyoke City Park, and third- and fourth-graders should gather at the HHS practice football field.
Monday is music program
Holyoke students in first and third grades will be performing their music program “Goin’ Buggy” Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. in the HHS auditorium. Get an early seat as some third-graders will be showcased before the start of the program.
No school Fri.
Holyoke Re-1J students will not have school this Friday, April 18.
HVFD responds to accident
Firefighters responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a truck with a horse trailer during snowy conditions on Highway 6 near the state line Sunday, April 13 at 7:35 a.m. The roof of the horse trailer had to be cut in order to get a horse out.
