The Colorado Association of Wheat Growers is hosting a Farm Bill Explanation Tour April 22-24 at five locations in eastern Colorado to explain “The Agriculture Act of 2014” (2014 Farm Bill) recently passed by Congress.
The meetings are being co-sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, Colorado Farm Bureau and the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee.
The five-year bill, which replaces the “Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008” (2008 Farm Bill) provides farmers with a one-time election to enroll in Ag Risk Coverage or Price Loss Coverage programs. If no decision is made, payments are forfeited for the 2014 crop year and PLC is established for 2015-18.
