HHS track athletes faced a competitive field as they battled against 24 other schools at the Bill Kalb Invitational at Yuma Tuesday, April 8.
Holyoke boys and girls both placed 16th at the meet. The girls scored 15 points, the boys 13.
Lamar dominated throughout the day as both boys and girls bested second-place teams by more than 100 points.
“Overall the kids did fine,” coach Sandra Rahe said of her team. “They’re just not going to get as many placings with 25 teams competing.”
Jacinda Krueger had a strong showing, scoring 11 of the girls’ 15 total points by placing second in the 300 meter hurdles and sixth in the 200 meter dash.
Carlos Diaz had a big day for the Dragons. He was responsible for seven points by placing third in the high jump and eighth in the long jump.
