|Lenz Farms, Sand Partners are corn yield state winners|

Area corn growers, Lenz Farms and Sand Partners of Holyoke, have been honored as state winners in the 2013 National Corn Yield Contest, sponsored annually by the National Corn Growers Association.
Lenz Farms placed first in Colorado in the no-till/strip-till irrigated class with a yield of 280.894 bushels per acre. The hybrid used in the winning field was Pioneer/P1151AM.
Sand Partners placed first in the state in the non-irrigated class with a yield of 82.7218 bushels per acre, using the hybrid Pioneer/35F48AM1.
Taking state second-place honors in the no-till/strip-till non-irrigated class was Harry Brinkema of Holyoke with a yield of 109.882 bushels per acre. He used the hybrid Pioneer/35F37.
Steve Millage of Holyoke placed third in the state in the no-till/strip-till non-irrigated class with a yield of 99.7732 bushels per acre, using the hybrid Pioneer/P9690R.
