HHS track stays busy with 2 meets PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kyle Arnoldy

HHS track and field had a busy week, traveling to Wray Thursday, April 17 and to Akron Saturday, April 19.

Coach Sandra Rahe noted that the two meets gave the Dragons an opportunity to face some of the better athletes in 2A that the Holyoke kids might see again down the road.

Holyoke boys finished in fifth out of 15 spots with 54 points Thursday in Wray and the girls placed 13th out of 16 with 16 points.

At both meets, wind was a factor. Most of the long and triple jump distances and 100 meter, 200 meter and 110 meter hurdles times won’t count as district-qualifying as the wind was gauged at over 2 miles per hour.

With Wray experiencing some technical difficulty that delayed racing events, tracksters finished the meet under the stadium lights as the meet lasted until nearly 9 p.m.
