HHS track and field was limited to just 14 competing athletes over the weekend at the Dick Evans Invitational in Wray Saturday, April 26.
Due to state FBLA and other obligations, many Dragons were unable to attend Saturday’s meet. Out of 16 teams, Holyoke boys placed 13th and the girls 14th, each scoring 19 points.
Wray boys and girls both took top honors. The boys scored 154 points and the girls 101.
T.J. Gertner and Ryan Parker put the boys’ team on their back, earning points for the Dragons on multiple events. Gertner finished in third and fourth in the 100 and 200 meter dash respectively and also placed eighth in the long jump. Parker scored a fifth-place finish in the 1,600 meter run and placed sixth in the triple jump.
