|Jacinda Krueger state bound in 100, 300 hurdles|

Senior Jacinda Krueger had danced around state-qualifying times all season long in the 100 meter dash and the 300 meter hurdles, but was still sitting outside of the top 18 spots in both events as she entered the Saturday, May 10, LPAA League Championships in Holyoke.
Needing to jump several runners ahead of her in state rankings to qualify for state, Krueger proved to be up for the challenge. She bolted from the starting blocks in the 100 meter dash, leaving the field in her dust as she claimed a first-place finish and the 14th seed in the event for class 2A at state.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Krueger finished in second, but posted a time fast enough to give her the 16th seed for state.
“It was such a relief,” coach Sandra Rahe said of Krueger’s qualifying performance. “We were just worried about the wind. There had been some gusts before, but it calmed down at the last minute.”
