|Adult softball re-established in Holyoke for co-ed league|
|Written by Kyle Arnoldy|
After a four-year hiatus, adult league softball has returned to Holyoke.
A co-ed adult slow pitch league is slated to begin Monday, July 7, ending with a tournament Aug. 6-7. Registration is due by Monday, June 23, and those who are out of high school are encouraged to play.
Sherman Kage and Kendra Schlachter are responsible for the formation of the league. Both being avid fans of competitive softball, the pair saw the league as a way to fill a void created by a lack of activities offered for adults in the area.
The league will also serve as a fundraiser for the Holyoke High School softball program. All proceeds will go toward the program to help pay for shirts, bags, pullovers and other items. HHS softball girls will also help with umping and running of the scoreboard.
