‘Farmland’ film to be in Holyoke June 25-26 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Most Americans have never stepped foot on a farm or ranch or even talked to the people who grow and raise the food people eat.

Shown free of charge at the Peerless Theatre in Holyoke Wednesday and Thursday, June 25 and 26, at 7:30 p.m., the documentary “Farmland” takes an intimate look at the lives of farmers and ranchers—all in their 20’s and 30’s and all who are now responsible for running the family farming or ranching business.

The story reiterates the need for the younger generation to return to the family farm or ranch—or see the demise of family agriculture operations as America knows them today. The film was produced by Allentown Productions with financial support from the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance.

Through this film from award-winning Hollywood director James Moll, audiences will step inside the world of farming for a first-hand glimpse into the lives of six young farmers and ranchers. The documentary teaches about their high risk/high reward jobs and their passion for a way of life that has been passed down from generation to generation yet continues to evolve.
