|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Holyoke summer girls’ softball teams had a rough outing at the Border League tournament to end the season in Haxtun Monday-Wednesday, June 30-July 2.
Neither team could secure a win as the younger girls lost both of their matches and the older girls were eliminated after one loss.
In the 9-12 age division, Holyoke entered the tournament as the fifth seed, facing No. 4 Oshkosh, Neb., in the first round Monday evening. Oshkosh sent Holyoke to the consolation bracket with a 6-3 victory.
The loss pitted the Holyoke girls against No. 6 Haxtun Tuesday night with fifth place on the line. Haxtun outscored Holyoke 15-8 to win the match.
