|Short agenda for city council members|
|Written by Chris Lee|
Holyoke City Council members met Tuesday, July 21 for a short meeting with little on the agenda.
One topic of discussion came during the Mayor’s report. Mayor David Nygaard mentioned he had received a complaint about camper parking at the RV Park in town. Council members questioned each other about the availability of parking in the area and also discussed parking availability at the fairgrounds.
Brenda Brandt from the Holyoke Enterprise presented information on a 24-page supplement detailing the responsibilities of the 13th Judicial District scheduled to run in the Enterprise. Brandt asked the board if the city would like to purchase an advertisement in the supplement.
Toward the end of the meeting, councilman Barry Winckler asked the board if there was any opposition to the idea of painting the skate ramps at the skatepark near the baseball field. He said the users of the park would like to see the graffiti covered up.
Winckler said he and his wife will supervise the process while volunteers paint the ramps. Council members agreed to supply the paint for the project.
In other business July 21, council members:
—voted to place an advertisement in the supplement for the 13th Judicial District.
—appointed Richard Brown to another five-year term on the Holyoke Housing Board.
—approved the request for Kathy Olofson to attend CGFOA and DOLA Budget Education Sesssion.
