Dr. Dillard Griffith, who served as a doctor in Holyoke from 1963-1968, has written an autobiography and will be featured at a book signing at Inklings Book Store in Holyoke Thursday, July 30 from 3-5 p.m.
“Up Divide Hill” is the title of Dr. Griffith’s book. It is touted as an autobiography of a General Practice/OBGyn physician with roots in the economic depression of the “dirty ’30s,” raised on the other side of Divide Hill.
Dillard Ray Griffith was the third of seven children born to Sherman and Kathrine Griffith. He had a wide range of educational experience.
He graduated from the eighth grade at Plainview, Dist. 247 in Custer County, Neb. in 1948. Broken Bow High School then prepared him for York College and Kearney State College.
Two years in the U.S. Army opened an opportunity for admission to the University of Nebraska Medical College in Omaha, Neb.
A wide range of medical experiences returned Dr. Griffith and his wife Reva, full circle, to the Panhandle of Nebraska, where they discovered the Joy of Torah. They reside in Mitchell, Neb.
