Twelve Dragons are on the HHS softball team roster, and new head coach Sherman Kage is thrilled with the turnout. Anticipating that the numbers would be lower, Kage said he is ecstatic about the 12-member team.
The Dragon season opens this Saturday, Aug. 30, when the girls compete in the Wray tournament, with action beginning at 9 a.m.
“We have a hard-working, dedicated bunch,” said coach Kage. He pointed out that two-a-day practices showed him a lot. “They’ve shown perseverance and character. With that type of spirit, we can be competitive, no matter who we play,” said the coach.
Returning letterwinners are seniors Stefani Razo and Taylor Goldenstein from Holyoke and Leigha Terry and Allison Boehm from Julesburg; juniors Roni Beavers and Kaitlyn Lenhart from Holyoke; and sophomore Lauren Thompson from Revere.
