Relay's Got Talent to make its debut at Relay for Life PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Dust off that old baton or start practicing the accordion, because Aug. 21-22 all participants in the Phillips County Relay for Life are invited to show their stuff in Relay’s newest game show: Relay’s Got Talent.

Relay’s Got Talent will be taking the place of Relay Idol this year, allowing the musical acts to remain, while inviting other talents to be included as well. The show is scheduled to start Friday, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Organizers hope to have a variety of entries, including anything from playing a comb with your nose to singing, dancing or gymnastics.

Acts will be limited to the first 25 entries. To ensure a slot in the show, call Doug Kamery at 466-2119 or Marcia Dalton at 520-4017. Relay’s Got Talent is all about having a good time, so don’t worry about an entry fee, prizes or being judged, just get on stage and show the walkers some talent.

A number of other new activities, as well as old activities with a new twist, have been added to the Relay for Life lineup, continuing to bring new and exciting activities to the Relay in its 8th year.

Following the theme, relayers are invited to participate in a musical chairs scavenger hunt, where all the items will be drawn from the Back to the Future movies.

Other games for the whole family, as well as team encouragement activities, will be incorporated into the 18-hour program, so check the announcer’s stage for details throughout the night.
