Michael Curtis from the Neenan Company presented designs for numerous additions and improvements to the Melissa Memorial Hospital campus during the East Phillips County Hospital District board of directors meeting Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The designs were developed from discussion points from board strategy sessions and are not finalized plans. Hospital Administrator John Ayoub was instructed by the board to continue developing plans with the Neenan Company to prepare more information to be voted on at its next meeting. The board also agreed that some things will need to be trimmed from the designs, so not all of the items discussed will actually come to fruition.
“All of these improvements support our overall operation,” Ayoub said. “I think this is a wise investment and would advocate moving forward.”
Citing public concerns regarding operational health of the organization, board member Gary Rahe expressed his admiration for providing assurances that issues are being addressed.
