|Hospital board passes 2015 budget, certifies mill levy|
|Written by Isaac Kreider|
East Phillips County Hospital District board members unanimously passed the operational and capital budgets for 2015 Tuesday night, Nov. 25.
The board authorized Hospital Administrator John Ayoub to certify the mill levy on their behalf. As has been the case for the past 14 years, there is no increase in the mill levy. Ayoub noted that he does not expect an increase any time in the near or distant future and that the mill levy is not going to go up.
A positive bottom line of $257,365 has been budgeted. Total expenses are budgeted for $12,413,761 and total operating revenues are expected to be $11,723,868. Tax revenue, investments, grants, donations and money from the 340B pharmaceutical program will make up the bulk of non-operating revenue.
Ayoub stated that 49 percent of the budget is made up of salaries and benefits. The building mortgage also takes up a large chunk. Having refinanced the building last year, payments have dropped considerably but are still right around $110,000 per month.
