Peggy Meusborn - January 18, 2010
Margaret “Peggy” Pearl Meusborn, 85, was born April 8, 1924 to Pearl William Snodgrass and Georgia McCoy (Miller) Flynn in Eckley. She died Jan. 18, 2010 at Regent Park Nursing Home in Holyoke.
She graduated from high school in 1941. On Nov. 6, 1944 she married LaVern Walter Meusborn on the family farm. To this union, seven children were born: Janeen Rae, Penny Leann, Sherry Lynn, Danette “Dani” Lee, Mark William, Mike Richard and Matt David.
Her first and most important career was that of housewife and mother, but she also worked as a waitress at the Rainbow Café for four years and was a line worker and phone operator at Hewlett Packard for 20 years.
Peggy was an avid bowler for many years. She loved the Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. While watching these teams play she knitted, crocheted and embroidered. She enjoyed her crossword puzzles, along with many other kinds of puzzles to keep her mind sharp. After her retirement she enjoyed going to the pool and getting involved with swim aerobics. She was always ready for a card or board game during family events.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Georgia Snodgrass; husband, LaVern Meusborn; sisters, Eva Lindsey and Lela Ireland; and brothers, Donald Snodgrass and Manford Snodgrass.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Janeen Burchett and husband Dennis of Greeley, Penny Dockins of Holyoke, Sherry Simms and husband Michael of Holyoke and Danette Ragains of Colorado Springs; sons, Mark Meusborn of Holyoke, Mike Meusborn and wife Kelly of Wellington and Matt Meusborn and wife Clela of Holyoke; sister, Ellen Krieger; brother, William Snodgrass; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Jan. 21 at Baucke Funeral Chapel in Holyoke with Pastor Jim Blake officiating. Interment followed at Holyoke Cemetery. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
