Norma Michael - March 23, 2010
Norma Irene (Lundberg) Michael, 82, of Haxtun was born May 26, 1927 to Roy and Alice (Lounsberry) Lundberg in Sedgwick. She died March 23, 2010 in Loveland.
Norma attended school through the 10th grade at Fairfield schools and then finished her education with graduation from Haxtun High School.
In October of 1946, she married Oscar Michael and lived on the farm in the Fairfield community.
Norma was raised in Fairfield Church, being active in choir and teaching Sunday school, and she particularly enjoyed church activities and get-togethers. Because of an illness, she missed confirmation as a child and was confirmed in 1987.
Norma loved to read. In her younger days she would set time aside to read to her children, sometimes reading the same book over and over. Norma enjoyed raising a large garden until her health kept her from doing so. Norma was an excellent seamstress, making clothes for the children and spending countless hours doing embroidery.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Lundberg and Mary Alice Lambert; brothers, Maynard Lundberg and Lyle Lundberg; sisters-in-law, Eva Michael and Lucy Lundberg; and brothers-in-law, Kenny Cummings and Duane Lambert.
Norma is survived by her husband of 63 years, Oscar; daughter, Ardis Fowler and husband Dwight; sons, George Michael, Evan Michael and wife Pat and Dean Michael; grandchildren, Laura Fouts and husband Mike, Jill Fowler, Megan Slusser and husband Chris, Bryan Fowler and wife Christi, Jon Fowler and wife Debbie, Eric Fowler and wife Vicki, Joe Michael and wife Brooke, Clay Michael and wife Kendra, Ryan Michael and Kelly Michael and wife Sara; sister, Althea Cummings; brother, Melvin Lundberg and wife Lark; and brothers-in-law, Glen Michael and Leonard Michael and wife Donna.
The funeral service for Norma was held March 27 at Fairfield Covenant Church with Pastor Dean Patterson officiating. Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery.
