Leah Bennett - April 27, 2011
Leah Bennett was born March 29, 1976 in Burlington to Gary and Debra (Bieber) Nickell. She died at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins April 27, 2011 at the age of 35.
Leah received her education in Holyoke, Greeley and Burlington. She attended Northeastern Junior College and majored in nursing. She worked at Melissa Memorial Hospital and Prairie Vista Nursing Facility in Holyoke.
Leah was a member of First Christian Church of Holyoke. Her hobbies included crocheting and spending time with her family. Leah loved music and singing. She loved watching her children in school, music and athletic activities and was proud of their accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Cleo Nickell and great-grandmother Verna Cheramy.
Leah is survived by her parents, Alan and Debbie Colglazier of Holyoke and Gary and Colleen Nickell of Greeley; children, Jaydin Goldenstein, Taylor Goldenstein and Trey Bennett of Holyoke; step-children Ethan Bennett of Englewood and Brianna Bennett of Holyoke; brothers, Eric Nickell of Holyoke and Kory Nickell of Manhattan, Kan.; sister, Jessie Nickell of Austin, Texas; grandparents, Chris and Janice Bieber of Holyoke; special friend, Felix Campos of Fort Collins; uncles, Chris Bieber and wife Suzy and Rocky Bieber and wife Barb, all of Holyoke, and Lonny Nickell of Aurora; aunts, Marjorie Lehmann and husband John of Roseville, Calif., Barbara Hart and husband Gary of Ulysses, Kan. and Brenda Daniel and husband Rick of Holyoke; cousins, Jackie Thompson and her husband Toby and daughter Emma, Brett Bieber and his wife Heather and daughter Aubrey, Dylon Daniel and his fiancee Brittany Farnes, Travis Daniel and his fiancee Carly Larson, Emily Daniel, Annie Daniel and Christopher Bieber, all of Holyoke, Lindsay Boerner and her husband Bryce and son Jayce of Haxtun, Leslie Hart of Manhattan, Kan., Charles Hart of Ulysses, Kan., Adrian Gordnier and his wife Christy of California; Aaron Gordnier of California and Robin Nickell of Aurora.
Funeral services for Leah were held May 2 at First Christian Church in Holyoke with ministers Merle Powell of Scottsbluff, Neb. and Jim Blake of Holyoke officiating. Interment services followed at the Holyoke Cemetery.
An education trust fund has been established for Leah’s three children which can be sent to Deb Colglazier, 12626 County Road 55, Holyoke, CO 80734.
Gerk Funeral Home was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
