C.J. Kain - July 25, 2011

C.J. Kain, 66, of Haxtun was born Jan. 28, 1945 to Fred and Elizabeth Kain. He was one of 12 children born to this union. He died July 25, 2011 in Haxtun.

After joining the Army and serving in Vietnam, he returned on leave and married Judith Kay Livingston. To this blissful union Luke and Jennifer were born. They were married for 40 years.

C.J. was a jack of all trades. He held many jobs throughout the years, including farming, trucking, selling cars and most recently owning and operating C.J. Kain Real Estate. He enjoyed people and always had a kind word and friendly smile for anyone he met.

He was an avid golfer and spent countless peaceful hours at the golf course. He especially enjoyed playing in tournaments with his son-in-law Jason. C.J. also bowled in a weekly bowling league each year.

His absolute pride and joy were his three granddaughters, Ariana (AJ), Avery and Aryssa Aguirre. He cherished every moment he had with them, and they always supplied each other with fun and laughter. “Papa” will be greatly missed by his three little ladies.

After losing his wife of 40 years, C.J. reunited with his high school sweetheart, Gleola, and they have been constant companions ever since.

C.J. was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; son, Luke; parents, Fred and Elizabeth Kain; and siblings, Freddy, Frieda, Henry and Henrietta.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Aguirre and husband Jason; granddaughters, Ariana (AJ), Avery and Aryssa Aguirre; special companion, Gleola Harden; and several siblings, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

There was no visitation as cremation was chosen.

Memorial services were held July 29 at the Haxtun Community Center with Pastor Gary Rahe officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in C.J.’s name, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
