Gene Prussman - September 10, 2011
Gene Michael Prussman, 51, of Sterling, was born Dec. 25, 1959 in Denver. He died Sept. 10, 2011 in Greeley.
Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sterling with Rev. James R. Nash officiating. Graveside services were scheduled to follow at 2 p.m. at Holyoke Cemetery.
Gene was adopted Dec. 7, 1961 by Lyle G. and Lola L. (Sagehorn) Prussman. He attended kindergarten at Big Thompson in Loveland, then attended Lone Star School, graduating in 1978. He continued his education at Concordia Lutheran College in Seward, Neb.
He taught in Texas and Oklahoma in elementary schools. He also worked for BOCES at Yuma. He cooked at Sterling Living Center and the Salvation Army in Grand Island, Neb. He spent his later years helping out at the farm and caring for his mother, Lola.
Gene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed cooking and crafts.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola, in 2007.
He is survived by his father, Lyle G. Prussman and wife Jean of Evans; brother, David Prussman of Otis; sisters, Jan Rogers and husband Bob of Otis and Julie Prussman of Otis; and nephew and nieces, Lyle and Sara Rogers and Hailey Hewitt.
