Delton Speicher - November 24, 2011
Delton G. “Spike” Speicher was born Aug. 22, 1937 to Bernard V. and Wilda P. (Brethouwer) Speicher in Holyoke. He died Nov. 24, 2011 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Delton attended Holyoke schools, graduating from Phillips County High School in Holyoke with the Class of 1956. He married Janice H. Fetzer on July 26, 1957 in Fleming, and to this union three children were born: Nick, Jolene and Sundalyn. Delton and Janice were later divorced.
Delton drove a truck for Wertz Trucking, Harms Brothers and Kula Grain Company and later became self-employed. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Holyoke. He loved football, and his favorite teams were the Denver Broncos and the Texas Longhorns.
Delton was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Speicher; mother, Wilda (Brethouwer) Speicher; and niece, Rebecca “Becky” Speicher.
Delton is survived by his son, Nick Speicher and wife Dawna of Mosca; daughter, Jolene Boyer and husband Barry of Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughter, Sundalyn Peter and husband Troy of Longmont; brother, Darlow Speicher and wife Debbie of Holyoke; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 1:30 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church of Holyoke with Pastor Max Hines officiating. Interment was set to follow at Holyoke Cemetery.
Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
