Alfred Bryant - March 02, 2010
Alfred Lee Bryant, age 84, of Yuma, Ariz. was born Sept. 15, 1927 in Century, Okla. to John Delaware and Grace Jewel (Kay) Bryant. He died March 2, 2010 in Reno, Nev.
He married Mona Lee Chandler and the couple had two sons, Leon Dell and Roger Dale. They were married for more than 61 years.
They lived in Mill City, Bend, Salem, Grants Pass and Elgin, Ore. until settling in La Grande, Ore. to start their own business.
Seely’s Radiator Service was run by Alfred, and eventually he and Mona moved the business to Hermiston, Ore. where they operated it until they retired to Yuma, Ariz.
Alfred enjoyed working, horses, rocks and spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death are his parents, John Delaware and Grace Jewel (Kay) Bryant; stepfather, Edward Earl Pickett; sisters, Dottie Hince and Ruth Medina; brothers, William Dell Bryant and Ed Pickett; and son Leon Dell.
He is survived by his son, Roger Dale and wife Brenda of Reno, Nev.; grandchildren, Dale and Dusty of Reno, Jenny of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Gary of Pendleton, Ore. and Sherry of Spring, Texas; four great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Chandler Hogsett of Haxtun and Myra Chandler Sherwood of Holyoke; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There was no visitation for Alfred, as cremation was chosen.
The memorial service was scheduled to be held in conjunction with his wife Mona Bryant’s service on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church in Holyoke with Pastor Merle Powell officiating. Inurnment was set to follow in the Holyoke Cemetery.
