Donna Sullivan - February 10, 2012
Donna Faye (Franks) Sullivan, 76, of Ovid, died Feb. 10, 2012 in Julesburg. She was born Nov. 30, 1935 in Grant, Neb., the daughter of Pete and Iona Franks.
She attended Venango High School, graduating in 1953. After graduation she worked at the Venango Bank until 1956, when she married Keith Sullivan June 26, 1956. The two moved to Golden and Donna worked at Coors Porcelain Kelly Girls and was in foster care when children came along. She also taught school in Georgetown, where Keith worked.
In 1971 the family moved to Sedgwick, where she worked for the Ovid Post Office and Platte Valley Inn and started in the antique business in Julesburg, a profession she continued for 17 years until her retirement.
Donna was member of the Gold Society, Super Suzies and the bowling league. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and reading and loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Pete Franks and Iona Franks, and a sister, Velma Borgens.
Donna is survived by her husband, Keith of Ovid; son, Mike of Ovid; daughter, Jody and husband Geno Guy of North Platte, Neb.; grandson, Cassidy Sullivan and wife Kelly of Sterling; granddaughter, Megan Sullivan of Julesburg; grandson, Mason Sullivan of Ovid; grandson, Macoy Sullivan of Ovid; great-grandson, Asher Sullivan of Julesburg; great-granddaughter, Makinley Sullivan-Squier of Sterling; and many nieces and nephews.
?A memorial service will take place on Feb. 17, 2012 at the Ovid Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kristie Firme officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Venango, Neb. cemetery.
