Mary Jung - February 12, 2012
Mary Ellen (Owens) Jung, age 80, of Holyoke died Feb. 12, 2012 at her home. Mary was born April 7, 1931 in Holyoke to Roy Owens and Emma (Jonas) Owens.
She married Leonard “Johnny” Jung Aug. 31, 1950. To this union, two daughters were born: Debbie and Sherry.
Holyoke friends seemed to be the theme of Mary’s life. She loved golfing with her husband and just plain doing things with him. They were truly buddies.
Mary worked at a drug store briefly. The majority of her life was working as a deputy county clerk in Holyoke. She never met a stranger. This job was wonderful to spend time with people. She held this position until she retired.
Mary loved her family the most in her life. The door was always open to her friends and family. She enjoyed her neighbors’ visits and the care that was given to her daily.
There will be a void on that little street in Holyoke with a little house on the corner with a little lady with a great big heart.
Preceding her in death are her husband, “Johnny;” parents, Roy and Emma Owens; brothers, Clarence and Richard Owens; and sisters, Alta Korte and Rosie Speicher.
She is survived by her sister, Julia Cullip; daughters, Debbie Fisher of Greeley and Sherry Cline and husband Bob of Loveland; five grandchildren, David Neiman, Jenni and husband Pete Morgan, Luke and wife Katie, Jody Sirio and Kelly and husband Jon Brown; 11 great-grandchildren, Kyler, Nick, Keaton, Zach, Nate, Jordin, Jacob, Jordan, Jaylin, Jackson and Alayna; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
