Marion Swick - June 22, 2012


Marion Swick, 73, of Lodgepole, Neb., died June 22, 2012 at Sidney Regional Medical Center Extended Care from multiple system atrophy (MSA). Marion Royer Swick, the son of John and Ruby Ethel (Willenberg) Swick, was born June 3, 1939 in Lillian, Neb.

Marion attended grade school at Lillian and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1958. During high school he joined the Army National Guard, gaining the rank of corporal before being discharged in 1964.

He married Connie Louise Borgmann on June 18, 1961 in Sidney, Neb. Marion spent his working years as a grain elevator manager. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Ethel Swick.

Marion is survived by his wife, Connie; five children, Gordon Swick of Alice, Texas, Eugene Swick of Holyoke, Forrest Swick and wife Kelly of Evans, Silke Flynn and husband Lawrence of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Heidi Martin and husband Adam of Cheyenne; 12 grandchildren, Zachary Flynn, Wesley Swick, Thomas Swick, Joshua Eli Swick, Hannah Swick, Tracy Calahan, Tyler Flynn, Nicole Flynn, Ethan Martin, Aidan Flynn, Esther Martin and Abigail Martin; two great-grandchildren, Dallas Harrison and Carly Swick; and two siblings, John C. Swick and wife Joan of Burlington and Kathleen Scheuerman and husband Alan of Edinburg, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6 at Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney, with Mark Zalesky officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Following the services, there will be a reception.

Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Friends who wish can sign the register book on Friday at the funeral home.
