Russell Tyndal - August 06, 2012
Russell Clyde Tyndal was born Nov. 23, 1926 to Clinton Oliver and Vera Mae (Graham) Tyndal in Lamar, Neb. He died Aug. 6, 2012 at his home in Holyoke with his family at his side. He was 85 years old.
Russ attended school through the eighth grade, leaving school to go to work for Bill McKinster, beginning his career at a young age, learning to operate heavy equipment and also farming the summer fallow. He began his gasoline career at the co-op in the gas station at Lamar, Neb., then to Scholl Oil Company delivering fuel to the farmers, then to Phillips County Grain which later became Holyoke Co-op until his retirement in 1991.
Russ served in the Army and was a life member of Holyoke VFW 24th Division and a member of Venango American Legion.
Russ married Nancy Fay (Law) on Aug. 20, 1988 at the Methodist Church in Holyoke, and they were just shy of being married 24 years.
Russ was the most loving and kind man, always enjoying a fun time. He was always ready to face a challenge. He loved kids and enjoyed playing with them. Russ had a contagious smile and laugh, and it will be greatly missed. He believed in treating everyone kindly and with respect.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Vera Tyndal; sister, Gladys Frank; brother, Don Tyndal; and great-granddaughter, Savannah Nichole.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Nancy; children, Rick, Christine, David, Gary, Scott, Marsha and Guy; grandchildren, Kirk Tyndal and Dana Pickings and great-granddaughter Tiesha, Jed Tyndal and Sarah Pricket and great-grandson Kenneth and great-granddaughter Samantha Jean, Justin Ride, Melisa Gray and great-granddaughter Kali and great-grandsons Kameron and Erik, Russell Breazeale, Erin Reitz, Jason Tyndal, Jesse Weaver and Kacey Weaver and Dustin Tyndal; along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be given in Russell’s name to Hospice of the Plains, P.O. Box 365, Wray, CO 80758.
The funeral service was held Aug. 9 at Baucke Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Phillips of the Berean Bible Church of Haxtun officiating. Interment followed at the Holyoke Cemetery.
