Buck Shilts - June 16, 2012

R. Rolan “Buck” Shilts was born Aug. 5, 1950 in Wichita, Kan. to J. Richard and Vivian Stunkel Shilts. He died June 16, 2012 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston, Kan. after a long battle with melanoma.

He was an assistant football coach and head boys basketball coach at Holyoke High School in the 1970s.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Buck is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carla of Mound­ridge, Kan.; son, Luke of Greeley and his daughters Eve and Eden; daughter, Annie of Burlington, Kan. and her husband Justin Beyer and their daughters Ava and Lila; son, Sam of rural Platte City, Mo.; sister, Linda Shilts-Baum of Howard, Kan.; and half-sister, Kelly Calvin of Garden City, Kan.
