Faye York - December 02, 2012
Eva Faye Parker York died and went home to the Lord on Dec. 2, 2012. She was born to Ardie and Cora Parker on Jan. 13, 1920 in Milliken, where she lived most of her life.
She had the pleasure of being named Milliken’s Honored Citizen by the Milliken Historical Society this past November and was the oldest graduate at the Milliken High School reunion last August.
Faye grew up in Milliken and graduated from Milliken High School, where she enjoyed being named the first school prom queen.
When Faye was 16, she asked the Lord Jesus Christ into her heart, and for the rest of her life she walked with her Savior and helped others know the Lord by her actions and lifestyle, by being active in the church where she played the piano and taught Sunday school. She was a wonderful prayer warrior, and not a day passed without her daily Bible reading and prayer time.
Faye and Richard were married on June 24, 1939. They were blessed with three children: Larry York and wife Mardell of Holyoke, Janet Marostica and husband Jim of Johnstown and Darrell York and wife Suzanne of Milliken.
When Faye’s husband Richard died in 1976, she moved in with her daughter Janet and family. Faye baby-sat all of her grandchildren and great-grands and even some of her great-great-grands.
Faye was preceded in death and welcomed to heaven by her husband, Richard; grandson, Scott York; great-granddaughter, Ellen; her parents; and all of her siblings.
Faye is survived by her family that resides in Holyoke, her son Larry and Mardell York, granddaughter Debbie and Vince Kropp, great-grandchildren Casey and Kathleen Kropp and Amy Kropp and great-great-grandchildren Elby Kropp and Katelyn, Isabelle and Molly Kropp; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
