Kevin Merrill - February 26, 2013

Kevin Thomas Merrill, 51, of Fort Collins, died Feb. 26, 2013, in Fort Collins. Kevin was born Oct. 5, 1961, in Sterling to Kenneth T. and Edna E. (Nestor) Merrill. He graduated from Holyoke High School and was continuing his education at Front Range Community College.

He was a retired chief sonar tech in the U.S. Navy. Kevin was a member of Boys and Girls Clubs of America. He enjoyed photography and sailboats.

He is survived by his mother, Edna Nestor and husband John; father, Kenneth Merrill and wife Jodi; sisters, Candace Merrill-Williams and husband Tom, Janet Oleson and husband Doug, Kelly Nestor and Paula, Marnet Kutchar and husband David and Emma Merrill; brothers, Keith Merrill and wife Pam, Jerome Merrill and wife Julie and Ethan Merrill; and several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nephews and nieces.

Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth T. Merrill Jr.

Memorial services were scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home in Sterling, with the Rev. Ed Bigler III officiating. Services were to conclude at the funeral home.
