Marilyn Schmidt - July 06, 2013
Marilyn Eileen (Busch) Einspahr-Schmidt died at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke on July 6, 2013, at the age of 85. She was born at her parents’ home on Jan. 24, 1928, in Venango, Neb., the youngest of five children. Her parents were William H. Busch and Mary Margaret Witzki Busch.
She went to Venango Grade and High School and graduated in 1945.
She married Milton Einspahr on Dec. 6, 1947. They made their home on her parents’ farm, and to this union they were blessed with one adopted son, Mark Allen. Milton died May 24, 1955. Marilyn then attended beauty school in Denver and graduated from beauty school in 1961.
She married Carl Schmidt of Amherst on May 12, 1962. They farmed together and ran Plains Liquor in Holyoke for many years.
She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary in Venango and the VFW Auxiliary in Holyoke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Busch; husbands, Milton Einspahr and Carl Schmidt; son, Mark Allen Einspahr; sisters, Wilma Krueger, Ruth Sparks and Evelyn Irene Busch; and brother, Leonard Randall Busch.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Amanda Einspahr Snavely of Olney, Mont.; nieces, Ardell Lakey of Mandeville, La., Irene Bussell of Holyoke and Marlene Vera of Las Vegas, Nev.; and nephews, Randall Busch of Venango, James Busch of Windsor and Brian Busch of Houston, Texas.
There will be an inurnment service at the Holyoke Cemetery on Wednesday, July 24 at 1 p.m. Gary Rahe of Zion Lutheran Church will be officiating the service.
Baucke Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
