Dan Comer - June 29, 2009
Daniel James Comer, age 48, of Denver, died in Denver June 29, 2009.
Dan was born July 5, 1960 in Ogallala, Neb. to James Comer and Sandra (Goebel) Frame.
Dan attended schools in Julesburg, Longmont and Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1979. Dan enjoyed athletics in high school and was most remembered for his track and field accomplishments and his love for football.
He attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Ariz. where he received his Electronic Technician’s Diploma in 1980. He was highly skilled in semi-conductor fabrication equipment, working on state-of-the-art electronics equipment.
In 1985, he was diagnosed with A.L.L. leukemia and went into remission in 1992. In 1990, he married Janice Knox and they had one daughter, Megan.
Dan enjoyed fishing, sports, photography, outdoor activities and many hobbies that included working with his hands. Dan was known for his ability to figure out how things worked and repair them.
Dan is survived by his parents James and Rosie Comer and Sandra and Tom Frame; daughter Megan Comer of Denver; sister Debby Banaka and her husband Jerry of Holyoke; brothers Erv Comer and his wife Melanie of Queen Creek, Ariz. and David Frame of Fort Myers, Fla.; nieces Elizabeth Banaka and Christina Banaka; nephew Larry Banaka; and many cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by grandparents James and Ella Comer and Paul and Rachel Goebel.
Cremation was chosen and there was no visitation for Dan. Mass of the Christian Burial was Friday, July 3 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holyoke. A private family inurnment followed in Hillside Cemetery, Julesburg.
