Deanna Fetzer - July 03, 2009
Deanna Mae Fetzer, age 66, of Crook, died Friday, July 3, 2009 in Haxtun.
Deanna was born Aug. 13, 1942, to Charles and Verna (Egelhoff) Bledsoe in Sterling.
She graduated from Fleming High School and on Dec. 16, 1962 married Dean Fetzer. They traveled while Dean did highway construction for a few years before settling in Crook in 1967.
Deanna worked at various jobs during her life including the Haxtun Hospital, Superior Fertilizer, selling real estate and helping local farmers. But, her favorite jobs were doing daycare in Crook for many years and being a traffic control supervisor for Colorado Flagging.
She organized the Red Hat Society in Crook, loved collecting lighthouses and loved her grandkids. She had many special moments with special friends, Dianne Egstin, Jim and Monica Aranci, Danny and Cookie Dickenson, Cork and Trilla Bornhoft, Tom and Mary Rodwell, Monty and Joyce Anderson and Ron and Teena Ring.
Preceding her in death is her father Charles Bledsoe, daughter Debra Jo Fetzer, sister Judy Kuntz and 10-month-old niece Michelle Kuntz.
Surviving her are her husband Dean; mother Verna Bledsoe; daughter Sherry Mari and husband Ron; grandchildren David Wecker, CeeAra Wecker and Blake Mari; nephew Ron Kuntz and wife Suzanne; and niece Tina Kuntz.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, July 7 at the United Church of Crook, with Pastor Dave Tyree officiating. Interment followed in the Haxtun Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crook Volunteer Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
