Chris Eurich - February 02, 2014


Chris Allan Eurich, age 54, died at his home in Holyoke on Feb. 2, 2014. Chris was born Dec. 23, 1959, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Harvey and Carol (Benzel) Eurich. He had two siblings, Curt and Hollie.

Chris grew up in Dix, Neb., and graduated from Dix High School in 1978. Upon graduation, he attended Chadron State College and Kearney State College, studying athletic training.

On Oct. 9, 1982, he married Jane Elizabeth Fetters. The couple raised three children in Holyoke, where Chris worked as an athletic trainer for the Holyoke High School football team. He was also an EMT in Holyoke and was trained as a respiratory therapist.

He was preceded in death by his Grandma and Grandpa Benzel, Grandma Betty and Grandpa Eurich.

Chris is survived by his wife, Jane Eurich of Holyoke; parents, Harvey and Carol Eurich of Holyoke; his three children, Aaron Eurich and wife Johnna, and granddaughter Addyson of Windsor, Micah Eurich and wife Megan of Sterling and Morgan Eurich and wife Maddie of Fort Morgan; brother, Curt Eurich and wife Kristi of Kemp, Texas; sister, Hollie Gerk and husband Casey of Holyoke; nieces, Megan Gerk and Laura Gerk of Holyoke; and nephew, Brett Gerk and girlfriend Jordan Stone of Holyoke.

Services were held Feb. 6 at First United Methodist Church of Holyoke with Pastor Al Strauss officiating. Final resting place is in the arms of his loving family.
