Anna Myers - August 27, 2009
Anna Wisdom Myers, 94, of Casper, Wyo., died at the Wyoming Medical Center on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, due to complications from surgery. She was born Aug. 27, 1915 in Hansen, Neb., the daughter of Thomas and Zella Wisdom. Anna attended high school in Hastings, Neb., Wray and Gering, Neb., where she graduated in 1932.
On Sept. 25, 1934, she married Ralph Myers. They lived in Minatare, Neb. where they had four children. They later moved to Holyoke, where Ralph died in 1983.
Anna worked for the Department of Agriculture as an administrative and loan clerk for 14 years. She also worked for the Home Health office in Scottsbluff, Neb. In 1992, she moved to Casper, Wyo. to be with her granddaughter Tammie Dillon and her family and enjoyed attending sporting events and traveling. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and game shows.
She is survived by three children, Gene (Joyce) Myers, Shirley Litz and Robert (Sue) Myers; seven grandchildren, Sharry (David) Woodworth, Gene Myers, Wanda Snow, Tammie (Kevin) Dillon and Brian and Becky Myers; great-grandchildren, Jack (Charisse) Woodworth, Cody Woodworth, Travis Myers, Anthony Snow and Nic, Zach, Andreu and Maddison Dillon; and her brother Don (Max) Wisdom.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Thomas; three sisters, Mae Sullivan, Marjorie Boller and Mary Ballard; and an infant daughter, Violet Rae.
A celebration of her life was scheduled at Highland Park Community Church Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. Another service will be held in Holyoke at First Baptist Church Friday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. with interment at Haxtun Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents and husband. Memorials are suggested to help with funeral expenses.
