Lila was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Boulder to the late Eugene Stanley and Alice Anna (Felton) Adamson. She grew up on a farm in Dundy County, Neb. south of Wauneta, Neb.

She was a 1939 graduate of Wauneta High School in Wauneta. Lila attended Nebraska State Teachers College at Chadron, Neb., one year, 1939-1940. She taught in rural schools in Hayes and Chase Counties, Neb.

When Lila was 10 years old she was baptized in the Frenchman River in Hamlet, Neb. She was a member of the Christian Church until her marriage. Following her marriage, she and her husband attended the Church of Christ.

Lila and Wendell farmed in the Hamlet area until 1952 when they purchased an implement and irrigation business in Imperial. In 1980, after Wendell retired and they sold the dealership, Lila and Wendell purchased a fabric store, which they named Priors and Sew Forth. She managed it until early 2009.
