Dorothy Renter - October 14, 2009
Dorothy D. (Siedenburg) (Kramer) Renter, 86, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at Regional West Medical Center.
She was born June 19, 1923 in Cortland, Neb. to Perl and Lula (Fryrear) Balderson. She graduated from Phillips County High School in Hoyoke May, 1941 and then attended Colorado State College.
She worked as a dental technician and assistant in Denver. Dorothy also worked at First National Bank in Holyoke.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Wesley J. Siedenburg on Aug. 10, 1944 in Brighton. To this union a son was born, Vance.
After Siedenburg’s death she was united in marriage to George Kramer on Feb. 9, 1947 in Holyoke where they owned and operated Dairy King. To this union they had four children, Byron, Randy, Steve and Cindy.
The family moved to Loveland where they owned and operated a pool hall and grill. In 1957 they moved to Torrington, Wyo. where the family owned and operated two gas stations. In 1966 Dorothy worked for TRW in Ogallala as a Quality Controller until her retirement.
After Kramer’s death, she was united in marriage to Bill Renter on May 14, 1992 in Chappell, Neb. Dorothy and Bill retired to the Scottsbluff, Neb. area enjoying their grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as fishing and playing shuffle board.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Bill of Mitchell, Neb.; her children, son Vance (Barb) Siedenburg and their children Bethany (TJ) Clinch, Grant (Dena) and James (Anita); son Byron Kramer and his child Tammy (Wayne) Abbott; son Randy (Sue) Kramer and their children Richie (Trista) and Tracy (Bob) Hanzlicek; son Steve Kramer and his child Joslyn; daughter Cindy (James) Warren and their children Daniel, Jessica (Kyle) George, Zachary and Mallory; and 19 great-grandchilren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Wesley Siedenburg and George Kramer, two brothers Len and Glen Balderson, grandsons Zachary Vasa and Daniel Vasa and a son-in-law David Vasa.
Funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 16 at Jones Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Sheila Taylor and Pastor David Mertzweiller co-officiating. Inurnment followed at Ogallala City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated at a later time.
