10 Holyoke FCCLA members attend National Leadership Conference

July 2-7, nine qualifying members of Holyoke FCCLA headed to Denver for the National Leadership Conference. These nine students include Aleida Millan, Alma Alejandre, Azury Chaparro, Elyce Sisseck, Elly Brown, Fatima Nuñez, Hannah Lindholm, Leslie Carrasco and Yoselin Peña. Roslynne Doorn also joined them on July 5 for officer training.

In addition to that, FCCLA adviser Karen Ortner supervised the trip with the help of Jessica Sisseck.

While they were there, they were able to network with 8,000 other students from across the country, learn leadership skills and explore FCCLA National Programs and Career Pathways. Members enjoyed the keynote speaker Romeo Salvador, entertainment by the Trash Panda Drum Line group, hearing about new programs and awards, and witnessing the election and emotional installation of the new national FCCLA officer team.
