More than 340 people attended Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Building New Bridges event Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Phillips County Event Center.

MMHF Executive Director Nancy Colglazier was pleased with the outcome. “For a first-time event, I feel that it went very well,” she said. “We received lots of requests to host another one.” The foundation is now considering those requests to make it an annual event.

Colglazier stressed the importance of hosting a cultural event. “It was a great feeling to reach out,” she said.

She added that the event showcases the need to further build community among all of the various cultures of Holyoke.

Colglazier noted that the event also succeeded in these aspects. “The Building New Bridges event was a wonderful evening bringing our community together while enjoying great cultural music together and celebrating our local health care,” she said.

She added that the foundation is pleased to have sponsored this event for Holyoke and surrounding communities.
