    Delvin A. Claymon, 81, of Amherst died Jan. 29, 2017, in Englewood. He was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Holyoke to Felix Claymon and Viola Kroeger. His stepmother was Irene Claymon.
    He attended Amherst Elementary and graduated from Holyoke High School. He was in the U.S. Army for two years, from 1958-1960. He worked for Amherst Co-op and was self-employed as a farmer.
    He married Shirley E. Hixon March 26, 1966, in Grant, Nebraska. They were married for 50 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church for 50 years. He enjoyed bowling, roller skating, motorcycles, supporting 4-H kids, watching football and basketball, fishing and bingo. He collected replica farm toys and enjoyed vintage farm equipment.
    Delvin is survived by his wife, Shirley Claymon; daughter, Nilla Claymon; son, Daren Claymon; daughter-in-law, Liz Claymon; mother-in-law, Virginia Hixon; sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Don Klatka; and nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Irene Claymon; birth mother, Viola Kroeger; sisters, Darlene Ratajack and Elaine Scott; and son, Darrell Claymon.
    Funeral services were held Feb. 3 at the United Methodist Church in Holyoke. Interment followed at Holyoke Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Delvin’s name to the Holyoke Athletics Club for basketball or the UMC Missions Fund, c/o Shirley Claymon, 36521 County Road 51, Amherst, CO 80721.
