Lillian Irene Lindgren of Holyoke died June 16, 2023, at the age of 96 at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke. Lillian was born Sept. 6, 1926, to Walter and Esther (Brase) Sagehorn in Amherst. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke. 

Lillian attended grade school in Holyoke and graduated from Phillips County High School in 1944. After graduating, she attended nursing training at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Denver and St. Mary’s in Grand Junction.

In 1947, she was united in marriage to Dewey Lindgren of Holyoke. To this union three children were born: Barry, Steven and Alan (died November 1974). She loved to travel and visited every state of the U.S. and 30 countries of the world. 

Lillian continued in the medical field as an RN at East Phillips County Hospital and Melissa Memorial Hospital. She also belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society, as well as Mary and Martha Circle. She was also a charter member of the Paragon Club and belonged to Friends of the Library and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include sons Barry of Boulder and Steve of Holyoke; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Holman and husband Carolus of Dallas, Texas, and Warren Lindgren and wife Mendi of Erie; and three great-grandchildren, Isabelle Holman, Holden Lindgren and Hayden Lindgren.

Lillian was a loving and tireless wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 74 years, Dewey; son, Alan; and sisters, Shirley Travis and Darlene Hagemann.

Viewing will be held Thursday, June 22, from 4-6 p.m. at Baucke Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke. Interment will follow at the Holyoke Cemetery. 

Baucke Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. 

Memorials would be welcomed and directed to the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation.
