Dragon baseball falls 10-7 to Akron Rams

At the last minute, the Dragons found themselves traveling to Akron for a baseball game originally scheduled to be at home. Last week’s snow meant that the Holyoke diamond was too wet for the Saturday, April 1 game.

The Rams took the lead in the first half of the game, and despite a push by the Dragons in the second half, Akron won the varsity game 10-7. After the varsity game, the JV players took the field. Akron won that game 16-5.

“I am disappointed we lost, but we definitely had a lot of good things,” said Coach Jimmy French. “We just have to work on getting more consistent moving forward so that we can win some of these close games.”

Next up is another home doubleheader against Burlington on Tuesday, April 11, starting at 3 p.m.
