The only action item at Wauneta-Palisade Public Schools board meeting Monday night was to amend the 2016 tax levy.
The Dundy County Assessor completes a preliminary property tax valuation and then completes a final valuation. This year the preliminary numbers were sent to the school administration instead of the final numbers.
Therefore, the WP board amended its levy amount to match the tax askings approved last month.
The change amended the levy, but did not change the total dollar amount asked of taxpayers in the Wauneta-Palisade School district.
The general fund levy was changed from 0.89 to 0.889744, the building fund levy from 0.05 to 0.049986 and the QCPUF levy from 0.01 to 0.009997.
With the amended levies, the districts total levy for general and special building fund is 0.93973.
Other items discussed at the meeting included a discussion of the rest rooms at the football field. The board’s building committee will be researching ways to offer more privacy to those using the rest rooms.
During the Superintendent’s report Randy Geier told board members the school recently received a $2,500 donation from Randy Raile with BWTelcom for the greenhouse project.
The next regularly schedule school board meeting is currently scheduled for Monday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. MT/7 p.m. CT at the Wauneta Attendance Center. School board meetings are open to the public.
