Dille, varsity team take 1st in invitational
Although delayed by frost and fog, five teams were on the Holyoke Golf Course Thursday, March 30, for what ended up being a great day of golf. Holyoke High School earned first-place honors at the Lady Dragon Invitational and was well represented in the individual results as well, with HHS students taking the first- and fourth-place varsity positions.
Grace Dille’s win was the first of her career and a new personal record, 100 strokes, coach Nick Flaa noted. Several other Holyoke golfers had personal best rounds, coach Marcia Dalton said. Brenna Sullivan came in fourth with 116. Other HHS varsity golfers were Regan Van Overbeke 124 and Anna Jelden 132.
Winning their first tournament of the season, the Dragons scored 340, followed by Burlington 351, Yuma 355, Wray 375 and Brush 386.
