Paonia wins state baseball

Ranked first going into the 2A regional/state baseball tournament, Paonia won the whole thing last Saturday, May 27, in the championship game against Rocky Ford.  

In the semifinals earlier in the day, Paonia defeated No. 4 County Line 10-0. In an unforeseen match up, the other semifinal game saw No. 11 Rocky Ford beat No. 10 Lyons 7-2 in the semifinals.

After shutting out County Line, Paonia went on to do the same to Rocky Ford, claiming a 6-0 victory and the state title.
