‘State of Phillips County,’ scholarships, voting to highlight PCED annual meeting

Scholarship nominations are due online Friday, Feb. 24; meeting Monday

    In a shake-up from past Phillips County Economic Development annual meetings, PCED Director Julia Biesemeier has a different program planned for the Monday, Feb. 27, meeting at Paoli Town Hall.
    Following 6 p.m. drinks, dinner and dessert, a “State of Phillips County” address will be presented, including updates on several different entities in the county such as the county’s hospitals, schools, chambers of commerce and more.
    Biesemeier will also present an economic development update, including statistics from last year and this year moving toward various goals.
    In addition, PC Economic Impact and Opportunity Scholarships up to $1,000 will be awarded Monday evening to nominees ages 12-21 who have contributed to, desire to contribute to, or have fostered the overall economic growth, economic innovation, community development or entrepreneurial spirit of Phillips County.
