‘We’re doing good work here’

MMH takes time to celebrate

“I’m a believer that we should celebrate when good things are happening,” said Karen Hooker, Melissa Memorial Hospital director of quality, at the July 26 meeting of the East Phillips County Hospital District Board of Directors.

“We’re doing good work here,” she said at the conclusion of her Quality Committee report.

With sparkling grape juice on hand, MMH Chief Operating Officer Jimmie Bailey III led a toast to celebrate with board members and MMH leadership.

 

Herman addresses board

Trisha Herman, program coordinator for the Holyoke Community Childcare Initaitive, was at last week’s meeting to address the board.

Even though MMH had offered to donate land for a proposed child care center in Holyoke, HCCI recently began looking at other options due to high infrastructure costs associated with the MMH land.
