12 attend 4-H Leadership Development Conference

Twelve Phillips County 4-H members attended Colorado 4-H’s Leadership Development Conference Jan. 27-29 in Denver. Members spent the first two days hearing from motivational speakers and working together in breakout sessions discussing leadership. Each breakout group presented skits to the whole group depicting their interpretation of one specific aspect of leadership.
A banquet was held on the first night of the conference where the members heard remarks from the state 4-H director and two International 4-H Youth Exchange delegates. Members enjoyed two dances and experiencing a new restaurant, which is located in the old Stapleton Airport tower.
Jan. 29 was 4-H Day at the Capitol. Phillips County members were able to sit on the Senate floor as guests of Sen. Jerry Sonnenberg.
