3 stakeholder positions open on noxious weed committee

The Colorado Department of Agriculture is accepting applications for three positions which will become vacant in December on the Noxious Weed Advisory Committee. The committee provides recommendations to the department to help protect landowners, agricultural lands and the environment.

“The Noxious Weed Advisory Committee plays an important role in shaping department and state policy since committee members solicit input from the stakeholders they represent to help inform state management plans,” said Les Owen, conservation services division director. “We value input from people with diverse perspectives and backgrounds who can provide the committee with a broad view of the challenges of weed management and help craft solutions that best reflect public and private interests.”

The Noxious Weed Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the department concerning designation and classification of state noxious weeds, development and implementation of state weed management plans, and prescribed techniques for eradication, containment and suppression of state noxious weeds.
