Tanley Andersen and Josie Herman cross into the Texas panhandle for the Ogallala Commons intern orientation retreat.

Andersen, Herman take on Ogallala Commons summer intern program

Phillips County Economic Development has two interns this summer as part of a program with Ogallala Commons, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers education and leadership to reinvigorate Great Plains communities.
Trisha Herman, PCED executive director, accompanied Josie Herman of Holyoke and Tanley Andersen of Haxtun to an intern orientation retreat in the Texas panhandle the first week of June.
The program will provide the interns with 200 hours of work experience and professional skill building essential for transitioning to the realities and requirements of a full-time career. The interns are also required to complete eight additional components that equip them with professional tools and references on top of the work training.
